I’m well aware of the abuses. That said, with the backing of Buckeye collectivists and BLM, why do I get the feeling this is less about ensuring appropriate “Only Ones” conduct and more about Cloward-Piven wealth transfers and turning urban areas into Portland?

The outright lies that the Left tells about qualified immunity for public servants, something that offers some minimal protection against judgements for erroneous acts that are performed in good faith and that don’t ‘shock the conscience’ but that does NOT provide blanket immunity from lawsuits and judgements in any way, are remarkably similar to the lies that the Left tells about the PLCAA supposedly preventing all suits against gun manufacturers, which, of course, it doesn’t.
However, ignorant and gullible people will continue to believe their lies, which the Left counts upon, and will vote accordingly. For this stupidity, voters deserve precisely what they will get: Fewer public servants willing to serve in the litigious fields of law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency medicine. Let them enjoy it fully, and suffer the consequences.

Remember when Harry Reid wanted to change Senate rules in order to get Sotomayor and Kagan onto SCOTUS? Even his friends told him he was making a mistake that would end up biting his successors on the butt.
Then McConnell used the very same trick to get Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett seated.
The Leftists just changed Ohio’s rules for amending the state constitution. Were they thinking the new rules would only apply to changes they approved of?
I can think of a few ideas I’d like to see pushed out of the legislature’s reach. I suspect Ohio’s Leftists will find out the trick they played will be used down the road to affect more than availability of abortion.
They should have had a nice long talk with Harry Reid.
Actually, the Ohio Constitution was always deficient. Issue 1 was an attempt to correct that.
