Lessons? Since ‘group practice with personal arms’ is now defined by the feds as an illegal paramilitary activity there are no lessons to be had. Sit down, shut up, prepare to meet your fate whether dealt by outside bad actors or by your gov. Hmm, I can’t tell the difference.
In a pamphlet published in 1774, Josiah Quincy II described what he referred to as a “well regulated militia” as a force drawn from the people at large, trained in the military arts, equipped with their own arms and ammunition, and led by people elected from their own ranks. They would be capable of defending themselves, their families, and their community from insurrections, foreign invaders, and predation by their own government whenever necessary.
