Minding the Fauxtoshop

Was Humiliating Navy Rifle Photo Actually Photoshopped? [More]

This one.

If so, by whom, and why did the Navy put it up in the first place?

Others with more knowledge of such things than me (I’m a rights guy, not a hardware guy) are also pointing out disparities in rail spacing and the like.

I may look into doing a FOIA request.

It worked with the Air Force to get Sutherland Springs shooter court martial records, although I did have to sue them…

  1. you say you are a rights guy not a hardware guy? So do you have hardware? and if so I imagine you understand the basic fundimentels of said hardware, attachments, scopes, etc.and if so you should be an expert on your own gear and such have a discerning eye.

  2. What do you expect from the Navy?

They can’t do a simple job without turning it into an adventure.

(old one liner about a NAVY recruiting slogan.)

Some scope covers are transparent so that the shooter can use the scope quickly in an emergency.

There’s also the incident where a New York SWAT officer was pictured at a hostage incident with his EOTech sight mounted backwards.

Not saying the Navy photo wasn’t fabricated. Just saying it didn’t have to be.
