I saw an estimate that every single social security number has been posted somewhere on the dark web.
So the question becomes, how many times have you been compromised and what do you do about it?
I got three alerts yesterday that my SSN was found on the dark web three times.
All of them from previous addresses and none for my current address. Don’t know if that matters…
I’m sure some of y info has been leaked, pilfered, whatever, even though I am not a high dollar individual.
But do I trust that linked ‘public data’ company to hold safely whatever I give them to look for my info in the web’s nooks and crannies?
I trust no entities, private or public, to do the right thing. Most all tell me upfront, in the fine print of terms & conditions, that my info may be shared with affiliated and non affiliated entities and of course with gov’t. agencies.
