Slow Start

Tortoise

Sorry, I promised my almost-four granddaughter she could help me make a pineapple upside-down cake.

I also just received an AR-15 delivery I needed to check ou… oh, wait, that’s right, I don’t allow guns in my house for reasons stated

Anyway, I’m at my desk now, so let’s see how much I can get done today– I do have a Firearms News piece due to post and then publicize soon and an AmmoLand article I’ve got outlined and ready to draft, some links I want to call attention to here, and, of course, an inbox with news tips demanding attention.

Anyway, it was good cake, but the Mrs. didn’t notice the can was chunks instead of rings, which I’m willing to chalk up to not wanting to offend Allah

  1. “… nasty, evil things always going around killing people …”

My guns claim they haven’t killed anyone since retiring from their respective military organizations.

Of course, one of them is 112 years old and its memories are probably even more vague than mine.

Still, I’m inclined to give them a blanket Bart Simpson defense.

Back in the days of my misspent youth, one of the nastiest looking yet most winning race cars at Miami-Hollywood Speedway Park’s drag strip was a C/G Anglia called “The Chicken Coupe.” Trust me, it looked like the guy had shooed a flock of hens out of it before loading it on the trailer. If both of us had won our respective classes, I would often get to contemplate how such an ugly piece of machinery could be so fast as he blew my doors off in the Competition Eliminator rounds.

Just tell them to stop looking at the cake and eat it.
