A prominent statewide gun-rights organization has sued the City of St. Augustine and several officials personally, alleging signs prohibiting firearms at public facilities violate Florida law. Florida Carry Inc. filed the case in St. Johns County Circuit Court against the city, Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline, City Manager David Birchim and commissioners Jim Springfield, Jon DePreter and Cynthia Garris. This follows on the heels of a $5M suit against Jacksonville over “an illegal log of firearms brought into city buildings.”
