Not that we can take her word for it, but still…

Coming from a policies and procedures background, this appears all so unnecessary, especially for a corporation with such organizational resources to ensure compliance.

I’ve never shopped in one. Anybody know if Cabela’s records ID information with ammo purchases?

  1. Based on both NY and CA require checking backgrounds of ammo purchasers nor Cabela’s records ID info of ammo purchasers unless the ammo was purchased with a firearm. Now Bass Pro has stores in CA & NY so they will have ID info for ammo purchasers. If the purchase is made with a bankcard that is recorded.

  2. Cabela’s, like any firearm and ammo dealer, complies with state and local laws. If the state laws require recording ID for ammo purchases, the stores in those states do it. The stores in states that don’t require it, don’t.

I don’t do a lot of shopping at Cabela’s. But the last time I bought ammo there, I paid cash and they did not check, let alone record, my ID.
