The previous record of 4 miles set in 2020 was defeated by a 4.4-mile target hit in the high desert of western Wyoming. The bullet took 24 seconds to hit the 8-inch bullseye… [More]
Why does anyone need a dangerous “weapon of war” like that? And shouldn’t such mad skill be restricted?
And “a team of extreme long-range enthusiasts”? Like a right-wing conspiracy?

Gee. Some people think that you need a F-15 to hit from that distance.
Oh F 15’s have their place.. but have their disadvantages, too. They are rather dear, drink massive volumes of Jet A, and need a crew to maintain and support them. Also, they are trather difficult to hide, and need LOTS of space to get up there, and back down then they’re done.
One rifle, carried by one man, with skill like this, can do a lot of things an F 15 cannot do.
I ran the calcs… that is an accuracy of one one hundredth (.0103) MOA. That’s headshot at four and a half miles. It would take me about thirteen minutes to ride that far on a road bike.
And I think Im “on it” when I can get one MOA consistently.
That is most definitely “deer in the freezer” accuracy.
