Just wondering what was the cost of materials and printer….did this clown take profit or loss or is this a scam cooked up by HPD + local ‘MOMS’ to inflate the alleged problems attributed to home projects?
Figure $200 to $250 for a basic but very capable printer.
Add $20 to $30 for a 1Kg spool of filament. Per one estimate I found, depending on the design of the lower, you can get 2 to 3 lowers per Kg spool.
But it isn’t like you push a button and a lower pops out. There are some steps required in between downloading an .stl file and starting to print. Plus 3D printers are not fast. Figure getting set up, starting the print, go to dinner, watch the tube for a bit, get some sleep, peel the lower off the print bed in the morning.
