Even having it denied, which it probably would be, would attract wider media attention outside of the contained 2A echo chamber, making his plight a lot more difficult to just ignore.
While Adamiak’s story is horrifying. Others from ATF’s list of victims came out far worse off. FedGov as a whole has a bad case of “willful ignorance” when it comes to the people who have been destroyed and tossed aside by their own government.
And it must be a contagious condition, because “We the People” apparently have it as well, perhaps seasoned by a healthy dash of “There but for the grace of God go I.”
