I live in eastern Tennessee. I work on the sound crew for my church. One Sunday a few months ago, I was in the back running the mixer and talking to one of the guys doing the streaming of the service. It turned out that both of us were carrying. I asked around in the back, and four of the five guys there had weapons. I was amazed. I asked our pastor, and he estimated that about 40% of the men and 15% of the women were carrying in any given service — which would mean about 60 people in each of two services, or 120 each Sunday.
I’ve been going to that church for five years and, oddly, we’ve managed to refrain from spontaneously bursting into a firefight.
