Nah, I believe it.
Patriotism means being proud of your country. But that’s too vague. Am I proud of my country the way it was set up? Or am I proud of what my country has turned into in the hands of all the clowns who run it now (many of whom wear it on their lapels)? The flag is just a piece of cloth — it can’t communicate which of those expressions its owner intends — so flying one is a meaningless exercise. I decided decades ago that I’d rather fly a state flag that a national one; and I’d rather fly the yellow snake flag most of all. But that would attract too much attention from the clowns who wear flag pins and carry eagle badges.
