There’s that word again.
A sitting US senator who swore an oath to the Constitution should know that the Constitution (as amended) has the word “granted” only once in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 “granting” Congress the ability to issue letters of Marque and Reprisal, essentially licenses for privateers to prey upon shipping of an enemy of the United States in time of war.

As for things that many think are “granted” by the Constitution, SCOTUS dealt with that idea in US v Cruikshank in 1875. I would think 150 years should be enough time for our elected official to become familiar with the ruling in that case.
