I Hate to Say I Told You So

Former Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger has defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in the race for Virginia’s governorship… [More]

But I told you so, and how, and why.

Thank you to those of you who did more than squabble.

  1. And she carried the threat spewing AG over the finish line.
    Now the fun starts.
NJ however, won’t notice much difference as the USNA cheater takes over in Trenton.
And prior NJ gov., the disgraced McGreevey, just won’t go away, he wants to be mayor in Jersey City and is in a runoff.
Minneapolis mayor contest ain’t over yet. They jump hoops to figure out who wins with their rank choice system.
California won’t send anything but D to DC for at least a generation or two.
    M’eh, I’ll have a double…

    1. Murderapolis still has its boy wonder mayor… The one which watched his city burn. He “won”, even though the “loser” Fateh got more votes. That’s ranked choice voting for you.
Our state legislature’s still the same, Dems still control the Senate as the special election districts didn’t change party.
The only change is St. Paul’s getting a new mayor. And she’s against the proposed MAJOR gun/mag ban. That might change things for St. Paul, unless the lame duck mayor pushes it through before he leaves.

  2. OK, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and all of you God’s creatures in between, please pay attention.

And especially all of you Republicans now nursing your post-defeat hangovers.

THAT’S WHAT A WAVE LOOKS LIKE!

    1. Meh.
Except for Virginia, Democrats won in places Democrats always win anyway.
I’m not going to get bent out of shape over confirmed generational stupidity.

  3. Sears lost by about 500,000 votes. It’d be interesting to see numbers, if someone ever does a survey and see how much of that shortage was due to gunowners staying home. If we had those numbers, maybe, just maybe we can use that to our benefit going forward.

Yet it seems the most apathetic demographic is gunowners.

    1. People are trying to say that the result would have been different except for the low turnout.

What low turnout? Turnout was reported to be around 50% here in VA. You’re not going to get much more than that in even in a presidential year much less in an off year.

      1. Political involvement amongst gun owners must be 100%. We’re not a movement if we don’t take action.
I know sometimes, in some races, there’s no good candidate to vote for, not even an ok candidate. We get that here in Minnesota, especially in local races, where both candidates are completely for civilian disarmament.
But Virginia had a good candidate in terms of 2A for governor.
Maybe if every gunowner in Virginia had turned out, it wouldn’t have changed the outcome. But it would’ve shown the political machine that gun owners are a voting bloc, and likely would have influenced the next races there.
