Notes from the Resistance
There is a small detail in the Twelfth Amendment regarding Electoral College electors meeting in their own states not voting for their top two candidates from their own state. In close elections this can be crucial. Florida has a large bloc of Electoral College voters. Since Trump is now a Florida resident and not a resident of New York, it would be unwise to have the VP candidate also be a resident of Florida.
