I was inspired to leave a small reminiscence on the subject of NIH at the origin page.
I also fondly remember creating a webpage for Eddie Eagle when the NRA had none — as a volunteer instructor and as a labor of love back in the heyday of Netscape Navigator — offering it to the NRA to include on their own infant website, and then waiting for months for something to happen — only to get a heated call directly from Tanya Metaksa demanding I take it down for copyright violation. She was embarrassed (but never apologetic) when I gave her all the above details, and ended the call saying she would find out what was going on. A few months later, the NRA website had a new Eddie Eagle section, for which they gave an award to some group in their internal staff. That’s NIH on steroids.
