Same Principle Applies

However, Mamdani declined to intervene to stop rapes and sexual assaults not because of concerns about his own personal safety, or legalities, but rather because he concluded that ‘that the last thing Egyptians needed was a well-meaning foreigner’s assistance.’ [More]

We Americans could say the same thing.

Except he’s not well-meaning.

  1. It couldn’t possibly be because, as I understand it, r*pe and SA do not exist as crimes under Sharia Law, right? Only “illegal s*x,” which assumes the woman is guilty and places the burden of proof on her to show that she’s not, by requiring her to bring four male witnesses to the act to testify on her behalf.

If you ever wonder how — as often reported — Iraq/Iran/Gaza/Palestine reduced their r*pes to zero, that’s how. It’s not that they’re more moral or law-abiding people, as implied, or that they enforce their laws better; it’s that their laws are based on a religious construct that simply doesn’t define or criminalize r*pe and SA like we do.

The same way Left Coast states reduced their “drug crime” numbers to near-zero: by decriminalizing most low-level drug crimes. If it’s not treated as a crime, it can’t drive the numbers up. Problem solved!
