If you think about it, this is a life sentence for the guy’s career. With the effect this has had on emboldening foreign enemies and thus endangering personnel, perhaps that’s fitting.

I suspect the pic wasn’t the only reason he was booted. It was more likely just a symptom of his general incompetence. The pic drew attention to his lack of ability….the subsequent investigation provided ample reason to terminate his tenure in command.
