  1. “… Any good machinist on any firearm”.
    It appears that we need improved education to enhance the number of good machinists along with enhanced propagation of machine tools, both additive and subtractive technologies.
    In the meantime, it may be more effective to educate voters to demand that the products of the current group of good machinists be made available without restrictions.
    Let the demand for reliable, effective, innovative products without unnecessary government restrictions drive the supply.
    Make the government’s role be limited to the development of infrastructure (education, transportation, lower costs and higher reliability of energy supply), establishment of quality standards, determining best known methods of manufacture and publishing of unbiased performance data so that consumers can fairly and properly assess value of the products.
