Primary elections started out as an alternative to a party convention picking a nominee. What once was a function of the individual party leaders became a function for those who declared affiliation with that party overseen by the government.
So……
Which partly leads the push of open primaries, where crossover and independent voting is allowed to dilute the voice of those who declare affiliation with the party holding the primary?
Which party leads the push for so called “jungle primaries” where the voice of minority parties is filtered out entirely by the time the general election is held?
