  1. The picture of her in the article shows her sporting a Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) button with the caption “My people were refugees too.” So that pretty much tells you all you need to know about her voting and likely political contribution records.

The article title and text also describe her as a Holocaust survivor. That seems to be stretching the truth. The article does not state that she and her family were ever incarcerated even in a ghetto, much less an actual concentration camp. They were fortunate to be able to escape the Nazis through several countries, and eventually found asylum in the Dominican Republic for the duration of the war.

    1. So what you’re saying is, she’s a “Holocaust survivor” the same way David Hogg is a “school shooting survivor”?

  2. [Rabbi Mark] Soloway said he believes Soliman is “deluded and misguided” for believing “that an act of unspeakable brutality and violence is going to help the … suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.”

The Rabbi is giving the alleged terrorist far too much credit, assuming the attack was intended to “help the … suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza”.

Par for the course would be that the attack was intended to maim and/or kill Jews and Israel supporters wherever they exist in the world.

It was neither “deluded” nor “misguided”. Rather, it was in keeping with Islamic law and Hamas’ founding charter, both of which mandate exterminating Jews.

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever met a non liberal Jew, come to think of it.

But when the article says “free Palestine” and says “other anti Semitic comments”, well, saying “free Palestine” is a political statement, not a racial one. And Palestinians are Semitic people too. So, the guy probably said anti Jew things, but anti Semitic? Doubt it, especially if he’s Egyptian as they think he is, then he’s a Semite too.
