There’s an App for That

And if an AR-15 gets stolen, the owner could use the “Find My” app to pinpoint the location of the rifle and share it with police, so the rifle could possibly be recovered. [More]

Somewhere, there’s a Democrat thinking of ways to make that mandatory.

  1. “Air Tags are proprietary to Apple and designed so as to be findable/detectable only by the specific iPhone user who installs them. This means other iPhone users will not see or be able use their phone to find the Air Tag in someone else’s AR-15, nor will the government.”

Look, this is just blatantly false.

Any random Apple equiment user will “receive a push alert whenever an unknown AirTag is nearby for an extended period of time and away from its owner.” If the thieves hold it for long enough, it will alert THEM of its presence. If they stash it somewhere, the next door neighbor could get alerted. And when it alerts you, the Tag tells you where it’s traveled and (if still near you) where it is now. I know this from persnal experience as well as from being an Apple guru,.
