Turning the Pager

Lebanon: Hundreds of Hezbollah Terrorists Injured as Pagers Explode in an Apparent Coordinated Strike [More]

While some seem to be getting a good laugh out of this, non-technical me is wondering who has the technical expertise to explain why a resourceful enemy couldn’t do that to cell phones here?

Or electric cars…?

  1. You really have to admie the technical skill and expertise of the Mossad…who are most certainly behind this. And while pagers are ancient unused technology here in America one must wonder if the same thing could be done with our ubiquitous cell phones.

  2. The hack relied on Mossad intercepting the bulk shipment and modifying every one of the pagers with explosive and a firmware mod. Unless a manufacturer did that to EVERY cell phone, you probably wouldn’t be getting one.

On the other hand, my son mused that he was going to stop ordering his phones and computers over the Internet, as opposed to going to the store and telling them to “pick one out for me.”
