This character is a Mexican national and apparently took bribes in Mexico, what jurisdiction does the U.S. DOJ have?
Only for his actions performed within the US, and/or actions directly affecting drug traffic within the US. It seems the guy was pretty active in furthering drug trafficking between the US and Méjico.
There is only ONE THING that will end or seriously reduce all the killing, bribing, border jumping, thuggery, theft, connected with illegal drug trafficking: make it legal.
Yeah yeah yeah I know..”but what about the children” you say. Consider that as long as those chemicals are illegal those selling them will be by definition criminals, and not accountable to anyone. IF parents would do right by their children and raise them well they’d never go after drugs anyway. They’ve already sort of “legalised” them with these “safe injection zones” in the big city omeless camps. So why not extend that thinking universally?
Simple: figures from about ten years ago have the annual budget for the federal Drug Enforcement Agency at around $Bn65 per year. Does anyone here think all those thusly fattened cats would simply shrug their shoulders and say “oh well, guess I’ll go get a job driving a bus or something” And their VERY well fattened handlers?
Nah. Aintagonna happen. But until it does this madness will continue, tearing dow every aspect of our society
