  1. ‘ In any case, what John has designated “Codrea’s Law” is silent on a “solution.” ‘

An optimist would suggest that every problem has a solution.

A pessimist (or mathematician) would have strong reasons to believe that the optimist is wrong.

But a lack of solutions would not mean that mitigations and or work-arounds do not exist.

One cannot let the perfect become the enemy of the good enough.

Yet the question remains, is perpetually warehousing a violent psychopath in the best interests of society or the psychopath? I suspect we’ll never come up with an answer that makes everyone happy.

  2. In Florida, a state issued Concealed Weapons Permit is not required to purchase, possess or concealed carry a handgun. IANAL, but I do not believe that any visitors to that home require a screening for weapons before entry to avoid constructive possession and violation of probation by the husband. Likewise, travel in any vehicle or public place does not require the screening of others. It appears that the judge misunderstands the law or overstepped his authority.
