The Prevent Illegal Gun Resales Act would add common sense structural reform to the gun sale industry by boosting license application requirements for gun retailers, proportionally increasing the cost of licensing fees, and adding a new definition for “high-risk dealers” that would include sellers who:
Had a known violation or warning in the past three years; Had firearms either lost or stolen from them within the preceding year; or, Were the source of two or more guns with a time-to-crime of three years or less. [More]
In other words, close them all down.
Yes, Bob, exactly like Democrats.
Yes, this is political posturing for the media, and no, it won’t pass — yet — but it’s instructive to see what the plans are for when previous impediments are removed through “compromise.”
The only reason to let the enemy get closer to the target is to draw him into a trap.

This whle schick rings hollow when I remember the clowns who stole two pallets of firearms from a UPS facility in Ohio (?). they were caught, and as I recall the perps got some slap on the wrist of ten years. If I remember aright, the FEDERAL penalty for sealing any gun is at least fire years PER GUN. Five times four hundred fifty is a couple centuries. and NO charge for theft of goods from interstate common caarrier while in transit, nor bearking and entering the UPS facility.
When the Fds go so easy on gun theft cases it rings real hollow to hear these weepy Redshirts whinnge and moan.
I learned all I needed to know about this bill when I read the list of sponsors for the bill. Same ol same ol. Maybe if they turn the handle long enough the ol’ Jack in the Box will pop up and say howdy.
