Agreed. So, I watched this the other day and recommend you carve out an hour and change to do so, too.
Before I continue with a review, some disclosure is in order: I have been friends and colleagues with both executive producers, T.L. Davis and Peter White, for years, and they have both been guests in my home. T.L. was the force and narrator behind Lies of Omission, the documentary I appeared in along with Mike Vanderboegh, Matt Bracken, Larry Pratt, Claire Wolfe, and Kit Perez. Peter was also an executive producer on Lies, and was also my ride in 2010 shuttling Mike Vanderboegh and me from the 2010 Second Amendment March in DC across the Potomac to Gravelly Point Park in VA for an armed Restore the Constitution rally.
That and Deconstruction was directed by Sammi Lee Davis, who also directed Lies.
The narrator is veteran actor Nick Searcy, who is pretty brave for doing this considering Hollywood’s cancel culture against conservative actors, writers, and directors.
Opening with footage of 1956’s crushed Hungarian Revolution against Soviet domination/communist rule, Deconstruction interviews survivors who know firsthand what the tyranny the world seems bent on repeating and expanding collectivist tyranny leads to.
Noting the documentary’s focus is “the global fight for freedom,” struggles and movements in other nations are also highlighted, with statements from Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, who documents the remarkable drop in violent crime since his nation changed course, and Javier Milei, president of Argentina, touting a significant economic turnaround. Former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán is also featured, as is Polish president Karol Nawrockim and America’s own Donald Trump (hardly a “renegade,” but he campaigns on the right message– let’s hope he sees this film).
It’s important to note that all of the above-listed politicians present problems of their own. No one is holding them out as perfect exemplars of freedom. That said, the core of what they are trying to establish is through national sovereignty and rejection of an ultimately controlling globalist state that rules all, and they do a good job of defining the problems with that and presenting viable alternatives by example.
The “villains” are no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to the effects of collective globalization and weaponized migration, and include the UN, the European Union, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) like George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, Tides, and others, treasonous sellout political whores (my description), and academia.
Sadly, two examples of real progress (which is the opposite of what self-styled “progressives” mandate) have been set back. As mentioned, Orbán has been voted out and replaced with Peter Magyar, who is set on “rebuilding” EU ties. And in Brazil, as I have documented in multiple reports, Jair Bolsonaro’s reform efforts against gun and other restrictions have been rejected by collectivist-influenced voters, and the socialist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is back in power and is tightening his grip.
My conclusion, bearing in mind I make no secret of my personal affinities and never have of my beliefs: It’s important for freedom-minded Americans (and especially for informed gun owners) to see Deconstruction, not only to understand what’s happening “over there” — especially with cultural terraforming via weaponized “migration.” That’s because it has been, is, and will continue to happen over here, and as WarOnGuns readers have seen proven for years, our “gun rights leaders” have been deliberately indifferent, useless, and some, outright hostile to the idea.
