But here’s one you can take to the bank.
In 1992, George Soros had amassed a large “short” position on the British Pound Sterling. He then forced the British central bank to abandon support of that currency and made a $1B profit in the carnage that followed.
He has followed a similar strategy with several national currencies and added to his considerable holdings with the profits made regardless of the economic suffering caused to the citizens of the country involved.
Soros placed the biggest financial bet in world history on a short position in the US Dollar. He has since added to that position. Long story short, if the US Dollar were to collapse, perhaps after one or more nudges from his collection of political activists and anarchists, Soros will make his name as the richest man in the world, and likely keep that title for the remainder of his life.
And as Merv Griffin said during his battle with Donald J. Trump over control of Resorts International, when you reach that level of play, the money is just for keeping score.
Soros intends to win and has shown no concern about who or what he has to destroy in the process.
