I watched the NRA webinar.
Grassroots Field Coordinator David Conte gave an overview of all the different operations and then outlined the various ways members can get involved as volunteers, including with elections.
He also commented on how NRA members are reliable voters but many gun owners are not, something readers here are well aware of.
He’s got his work cut out for him trying to herd cats, and mistrust of NRA and Profiles in Apathy were in full display by the numbers in attendance, only 37 after all of the members reached via emails and social media.
I have no idea how to change that. What I do know is, unless gun owners get involved, organize and actually do something politically constructive, whether with NRA or through some other means, Democrats are going to continue to drag everything into the abyss.
“… only 37 after all of the members reached via emails …”
If they said that, they lied to you. This Endowment Member received no notice whatsoever other than the mention on your blog.
I spent a good part of my working years writing software. In that world, the label “2.0” indicates a top to bottom rewrite, refreshing the entire package and clearing all known bugs.
So far, as much as I can see, “NRA 2.0” is vaporware *. Other than hype, smoke, and mirrors, there’s nothing much to see. They got the bus boys to wipe down the counters. Sorry about LaPierre’s used chewing gum stuck under the table top. Instead, NRA 2.0 is looking a lot like the previous release with some new logo stickers on the box.

I have been a member since 1965, going to life and endowment over the years. I did not give money for years while Wayne was there for a lot of obvious reasons. I am still reluctant for two main reasons. 1. There are still too many board member still on the board that allowed the Wayne situation to happen and continue to happen for years.
2. I think the board has too many members it does not allow for effective oversight. It appears that the size allows actions to be hidden or covered up.
I missed your earlier post about this. I just checked NRA’s X feed and so no mention of it. I double checked my Nov. ’25 ‘America’s 1st Freedom’ and saw no mention of it there either.
It doesn’t seem they publicized this too well.
And I think people learning of NRA’s corruption and of their 91 years of 2A betrayals, has turned off many gun owners. And I think it’s made people gun shy about getting involved with other groups as well.
No doubt gunowner apathy is real, but, I think the issue here is due mainly to other problems.
