After arresting them they should be airdropped back into their native country…parachutes optional.
As I understand it (IANAL warning), Texas’ SB4 allows authorities in Texas to arrest, hold, and deport illegal/undocumented migrants. It largely mirrors federal immigration laws.
SCOTUS sided with the State against the fed because they’re not trying to enforce federal laws or coerce the federal government to enforce federal law. It’s State authorities enforcing State laws … that “just happen” to be mostly redundant to federal law.
Which is also not unprecedented; laws against murder, fraud, bank robbery, and a hundred other things (including, unfortunately, quite a few gun laws) exist on both the State and federal level, similarly-worded enough as makes no difference. State officials don’t have the authority to charge suspects with federal violations, but if a State law mirrors federal law, they can charge suspects with that instead.
