The Case for Defending U.S. Rights While Targeting Criminals [More]

Pretty good write-up.

I’d argue with the “75% of firearms confiscated in Mexico originate from the U.S.” claim…

  1. Funny how people leave out the critical parts when it suits them.

The Supreme Court justice didn’t say you couldn’t yell “fire” in a crowded theater. He said you couldn’t FALSELY yell “fire” in said crowded theater. If, in fact, you noticed the theater was on fire, you should warn people at the top of your lungs. That word “falsely” being left out changes the meaning of the quote drastically.

Now consider if you’re a member of the Mexican government. If you have come across an AK47 that was obviously made somewhere in the old USSR, why the heck would you submit it to the American BATFE for tracing? The correct statistics should note that a certain percentage of firearms submitted for tracing originated in the USA. They should also note the origin of the firearms not submitted for tracing. And they should also note whether or not they were originally sold to the Mexican government before being diverted to use by one or more of the cartels.
