I don’t know enough about SC politics or this rep. to conclude this has a good chance or if it’s just the typical pandering we’ve come to expect from so many Republicans.

I live in SC but am originally from NC. I don’t understand SC politics fully but I understand much is driven by the wealthy folks living near the coast, many of whom are Northern transplants. Charleston money did not want us to have constitutional carry so we still need a permit here even though many other Southern red states have permitless carry. I’d expect them not to oppose this proposal but also don’t think it’s going to be an important legislative priority. It’s not as important to me as I reload everything except rimfire, but I would like to see it passed to benefit my fellow SC shooters.
