Crashing the Blood Dance

D.C. Democrats Are Furious At Trump For Stopping All The Homicides [More]

I see the Demanding Moms are all for letting the “gun violence” to continue:

And yes, of course it’s a choice.

  1. What homicides? Those he caused with his Daddy Warpspeed crapola? 30 freaking million and counting. Hate to put a pin in the balloon of those deceived by his antics. Three D chess my arse.

    1. @Steve Miller:

Far be it from me to claim that Trump is infallible, but let me play Devil’s Advocate here for a moment to hopefully put a few things in perspective.

First, Trump’s initial COVID response in 2020 and his current actions in 2025 to reduce crime (including but not limited to homicides) in D.C. are two VERY distinct issues, separated by both space and time. And while I have Constitutional questions about the current D.C. actions, the results are quite plain to see: the city is safer now for normal people than it has been in a LONG time. (Which would still not excuse any Constitutional violations.)

As for the COVID response and “Operation WarpSpeed,” they happened when the NIH and “Dr.” Anthony Fauci still maintained some modicum of public credibility. Trump is not a doctor or virologist himself, so it makes sense that he would listen to their recommendations. Which is to say, he was sold the same bill of goods the rest of the country was sold, which we only found out later was damaged along with the people recommending it.

Sure, some of us were skeptical from the get-go (for many reasons; speaking for myself, mandating any medical treatment for ANY reason is a HUGE red flag regardless of the “emergency,” doubly so for experimental ones), and we can argue over whether or not Trump should have shown some healthy skepticism himself; that’s a valid topic for debate. (Maybe he didn’t, or maybe he did but nevertheless decided to go with the “experts'” opinions. There’s no way of knowing.) Regardless, at the end of the day, the “experts” advised and he listened, just like you listen when your mechanic or HVAC guy tells you what they think is wrong with your vehicle or central A/C.

Trump isn’t perfect; nobody is. And nobody is an expert on everything. Recognizing when you’re out of your depth and calling in people with the right knowledge base is part of adulting. So while the national COVID response was epically bungled, I can’t in good conscience put the entirety of the blame on Trump.

  2. One of the motivations for the Sullivan law was that immigrant shopkeepers had begun arming themselves and from time to time would shoot one of the “protection” racket collectors. This was “bad for business” and was cutting into Tammany Hall’s percentage.

    So the shopkeepers were disarmed.

    Democrats are Democrats are Democrats.

The Clinton and Biden kleptocracies didn’t invent squat.

  3. Fewer homicides means fewer “gun homicides”, means less blood for them to dance in. How dare the Bad Orange Man!

Also nice to see that post from the mayor focusing on “get[ting] crime guns off our streets,” and not “get[ting] criminals off our streets.” It really shows where his priority lies.

  4. “We can work with folks on the federal side helping us get crime guns off our streets at ATF, analysts helping us clear evidence backlogs at FBI and solve
    crimes in our cities”

But if you can stop the homicides cold without doing any of those things, it suggests your priorities — indeed, your whole approach — is bullshizzle.

    1. When Florida was debating a version of a “10, 20, Life” law, a state representative from Richmond Heights, located in southern Miami-Dade County, said he was against the proposed law because it was unfair to his constituents.

Now let that settle for a bit. Some of these democratic pols consider gang bangers, car jackers, and other career criminals to be their constituents. Once you wrap you head around that, a lot of their behavior, like flying to El Salvador to meet & greet an MS13 member, becomes easier to understand.
