And apparently SCOTUS has agreed with them since at least 1875.
From US v Cruikshank:
‘The right there specified is that of “bearing arms for a lawful purpose.” This is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence.’
Where Rights originate is a matter of beliefs. They may be good given, they may be a result of being a sentient human, they may come from some other source. But the nasty reality ismthe ONLY Rights you actually have are the ones you are willing to fight for, die for and most importantly kill for. Because if you don’t have the guts to kill those who would happily deny you your Rights then that is exactly what they will do.
