I’ve never encountered a culturally suicidal open-border “Libertarian” or “single-focus” gun owner yet who’s dared to actually answer my challenge instead of offering straw man arguments, anecdotes, opinions, and insults, and then acting like they’ve won.
The swimmers, overstayers and fence jumpers are here to stay. This was never in doubt. For each one shipped out two or three will quietly drop in. No brahmin (aka our political betters) will dare speak of any effective solution.

As you know, I reside in Miami-Dade County, FL. The overwhelming majority of my neighbors were born somewhere else. I understand that our local Hispanics, largely from Cuba and Venezuela, have a much different take on government, driven in to them by hard experience, than Hispanics from other countries. They just flipped our county from “blue” to “red” for the first time in decades. Nevertheless, I do have the opportunity to see more of those “anecdotes” here than you’re likely to see in Ohio. Polling trends seem to indicate that the Democrats’ hold on minority voters of all stripes may be slipping, but only time will tell if that’s a long term trend, or just a blip.
All that having been said, I think you’re spot on from a statistical perspective. It remains to be seen how the newcomers will vote if and when they get the chance. But the Democrats are in the process of dumping big parts of their traditional coalition in an effort to build a new one out of the people they’re importing over what used to be our southern border. Thinking they don’t have any idea what they’re about would be whistling through the graveyard on our part.
“Mr. Miagi” said “Best defense against punch, don’t be there!” At present, our best shot at keeping RKBA would be to keep additional illegals out, and to locate and deport the ones already here. Sitting on our hands in the hope they’ll settle on our side in a few decades would be foolish at best, and could be literally suicidal for America’s gun owners.
