One question: What has GOA done to promote and demand a Task Force seat to keep these kinds of abuses from happening before they do?
There’s all kinds of ways to make it happen and they could head off any need to have to run to Congress — which is prepared to do what, exactly?
It’s always better to keep the mess from happening in the first place instead of having to clean it up after it’s done untold damage. If they haven’t even tried, and this is their “solution”, I’m not sure I want to help.
It’s surprising to me, just how hard the 2A groups and individuals on forums, excuse Trump for things like this. It’s always “rogue” DOJ lawyers, “rogue” ATF agents, etc. Trump’s a billionaire developer. He knows how to give orders, fire employees who don’t perform, and hire ones who do. So it’s impossible to separate him from Bondi, he hired her after all.
He obviously approves of Bondi’s actions, or he’d order her to change her policy. And if he’s ordered her to change, and she’s refused, he’d fire her. But then we’re back to the “cult of personality”, with how people view Trump.
The lack of interest among 2A groups in having a seat at the mythical 2A Task Force table has been very disappointing. Such a waste of a golden opportunity.
