I don’t normally post here on weekends, but I just got back from our local “No Kings” Regicide Rally, and wanted to share some pictures.
They were packed like this on the whole East side of Main from Aurora Street to the 303, and in the green area on the South/West side. Traffic was backed up in all directions probably around a quarter mile.
They were “mostly peaceful,” with some cars honking and the crowd cheering when they did, although one of the yellow signs in the photo on the right alluded to the French Revolution. I tried to get a better shot of it but was unable to get closer before the sign holder moved on.
The size of the crowd surprised me– I’d estimate around 1,000. So did the age– most looked old enough to know better.
They were basically all white and not hurting economically, and my takeaway is these are some of the most privileged people on the planet and they want to give it all away. They remind me of nothing so much as the Israelites in Exodus, delivered from slavery and sustained by undeniable miracles, who, the second Moses turns his back, start fashioning a Golden Calf to worship instead.
I wonder how many of them could define “fascism,” but my purpose in going was to assess, not to engage in debate.
If Republicans blow the mid-terms, things are going to get real interesting.
I’m sure these are really No Kings (Unless They Agree with Us) protests.
Don’t forget it’s always the rich who want the tyrants to take over. As an example, everyone’s favorite boogeyman, Hitler, he didn’t just come out of no where. It wasn’t an “organic” movement. He was funded by the German elites.
That’s always the case. The names, and places and faces change, but, the elites always fund the tyrants as they seek power.
Your assessment doesn’t surprise me. Listening to NPR the other day I realized that the whole “NoKings” thing was a top-down directed astroturf operation, in which NPR was, of course, complicit. This has been concocted and funded by an entire costellation of leftwing pressure groups, and our tax dollars have partly paid for it:

Separately, your use of the definite article before 303 (“the 303”) shows your having lived in southern California. 🙂 The same linguistic pattern applies in central Arizona, which I am acquainted with.
“If Republicans blow the mid-terms, things are going to get real interesting.”
They surely will blow it. I know we speak mostly about 2A stuff, but let’s face it, the 2nd Trump Admin has bungled lots of stuff even in non 2A areas, and by extension, so has the GOP as Trump as president is the party leader. The 2nd Trump admin doesn’t have the energy or the drive the first one did, and seems to be totally as you often say “bi polar”, but not just on 2A, but many, if not all issues.
Last November when I voted for Trump, I thought he’d learned from his previous mistakes, and would keep the GOP focused on “America 1st”. I was wrong. That hasn’t happened.
Thank you, dcodrea. I’ve heard the same “white boomers in the streets observation” from the YT channel ‘Asmongold TV’.
Great report. It is 100% certain that the GOP will blow the mid terms. Everyone should stock up and plan accordingly.
