I’m remembering a cartoon of General and President Charles de Gaulle standing looking out over that field of grave markers with the caption “It is past time for you Americans to go back where you came from.”
Now all of Europe and Canada are upset with us because we dare to suggest they should be ready, willing and able to defend themselves after years of hiding under an umbrella we both provided and paid for, meanwhile rubbing their socialized medicine, 5 weeks vacation, and 36 hour work weeks in our faces.
Should we save them from their stupidity again? “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!”
Is there anything strong enough to use on a fool who falls for the con a third time?
FWIW, we have passed the point of no return vis a vis restoring USA to maintenance of its own self interest. We could axe all foreign aid and entanglements but still drownunder our debt. Will erect a flagpole to salute ‘ol Glory this year knowing my grand spawn will not know real liberty and freedom. Not sure I ever did either.
