Bad things happen when folks assume they don’t have to worry about or prepare for or prevent “X” from happening, because “X” is clearly impossible.
Its one of the reasons the Titanic didn’t have enough life boats.
Its also one of the reasons that those “Blue” folks feel they can antagonize the rest of us and not worry about any repercussions.
The thing is, the descendants of “the over the mountain” people are still out there. They’re still as slow to anger, and just as difficult to deal with when finally driven to anger as British Major Patrick Ferguson found them to be at Kings Mountain in October of 1780.
Major Ferguson found out what happens when your adversary is determined and not inclined to accept your surrender. He lost his life in the process.
