So… Demiautomatics…?

CMP Announces Sale of Surplus M14 Rifles – Historic U.S. service rifles will be converted to semi-automatic configuration and offered to qualified citizens beginning in late 2026 or early 2027. [More]

Yeah, it ain’t everything but it’s a good first step– one that “is going to help us hugely win the US Supreme Court cases involving the AR-15 bans.”

At least until the Democrats win.

  1. Good news for collectors, maybe:

But if you’re looking for an accurate rifle, so was the US Army in the 1950’s. In theory, that was the M14. In practice, the Army wasn’t happy with what was actually delivered by TRW and the other civilian contractors. while the quality control of the limited number actually made at Springfield Arsenal was up to their usual high marks, the stuff that was delivered by the other suppliers, not so much.

You might want watch this video first and maybe buy a Springfield Armory M1A instead.
