“Bullet removal” and “guinea pig” go together about as well as “fillet” and “blue gill bream.”
I shot a Florida swamp rabbit through both shoulders with a .223 once. I picked up the rabbit by the ears. All I had left was the head, the front legs, and some scraps of something vaguely rabbit-ish. Lord only knows where that bullet ended up.
The tissue damage from fishing for bullets is USUALLY not worth the benefit of removing said projectile. Each situation is unique. If the bullet causes continued pain or problems then by all means consider removal. Most however don’t cause significant issues. Medicine, including trauma medicine is an ongoing learning process.
