NSSF REPORT REVEALS FIREARM MAGAZINES WITH CAPACITY OVER 10 ROUNDS IS NATIONAL STANDARD [More]
I see some “gunfluencers” breathlessly celebrating the end of magazine bans, as if we’re dealing with an enemy that gives up, and as if Democrat judges won’t just ignore what they all know anyway.
And once more we’re seeing “in common use at the time” accepted as a popularity contest for “allowed” guns.
Anyone recall seeing that qualifier included in the wording of the Second Amendment?

On the subject of “in common use”, someone pointed out that there are probably more AR15 platform rifles in American hands than there are Ford F150 pickups on the roads. Given that guns tend to last longer than trucks, I’d say that the trucks would probably lose out on any actual count by a big margin.
Given that many retailers have been running specials on batches of Magpul 30 round Pmags, I would suggest that there are at least an order of magnitude more 30 round mags in circulation than there are AR15s.
“In common use” indeed!
I think I probably have enough guns (and magazines) for now. I’m holding off for a while till I can get a “phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.”
The point is that conclusions from NSSF’s data taken to mean “in common use” is a trap of circular logic. Our host has warned that it devolves to a “popularity contest.” If this interpretation of “in common use” is allowed to stand, then you will *never* be permitted to own that “40-W phased plasma rifle.” Even before it exists, it can be banned now, because it is not “in common use.” Then, when it is invented and exists, the ban will be allowed to stand, because it is, so far, not “in common use.” And it will *never* enter into “common use” because the ban prohibits law-observing people from acquiring one to begin with.
Wake me when we remove restrictions on every damn conceivable type of personal weapon.
Until then this is nothing but drivelous sosphistry.
