  1. BATF got its start as part of Treasury back in the days of alcohol taxation, moonshining, and such, early 1800’s if memory serves. Unka Stoopud neded some force to back up their often failed endeavours to collect a likely illegal tax on distilled alcohol.

    So, starting out butally enforcing money grabs and cinfiscating orivate property its no surprise they coneinue in the same vein today.

    And the entire outfit. No real need…..
