Talking the Talk
The Chinese traditionally see themselves as residents of what they call “The Middle Kingdom.” What the barbarians in the rest of the world do is of little concern to them unless it interferes with China.
There are two other places that I’m aware of that feel the entire universe revolves around the little scrap of it where they happen to live. On of those is Paris, France. And the other is none other than our New Yawk City, AKA, “The City” to those who live there, as if it were the only city on the planet.
There view on guns is strongly influenced by their “Sullivan Law.” What some barbarian in Virginia thought on the topic 250 years ago is of little import to them.
This attitude pretty much saturates pretty much everything they do, say, and feel. And our President, regardless of his good intentions, is no different.
He talks about “our beautiful Second Amendment” a lot but I’ve never heard or read anything from him about what he thinks the amendment says, means or does. If someone else has, please enlighten me.
But the bottom line is, if you told him that the Second Amendment was intended to prohibit most if not all of our current gun laws you would probably be shocked by his response.
