  1. I’m not so sure that this has much to do with “smart”. But it has plenty to do with fearless determination, trust (that his master would be there to catch him), and ‘sticky’ feet….’sort-of’. A hoved animal could never get enough traction to run up a wall. Though I have heard of wild feral hogs climbing trees to get at a hunter, who only survived because he had a .45 ACP on his belt.

    I once saw a video of an IDF Malanois climb a ten foot chain link fence, go over the top, down the other side and catch a guy who started running away at the same time the dog started climbing. Like I said. Fearless Determination. Have you ever met a Blue Lacy game dog?
