In the entire course of human history, not one single individual has ever been killed by a gun. Period.
Anyone who starts off their argument with that sort of statement is trying to sell you something you probably don’t really want.
And then there’s the very definition of suicide. Suicide is the act of killing oneself. A gun didn’t do it. Another person didn’t do it. The deceased did it.

Remember the rules for safe gun handling?
If a firearm “just goes off” while one or more of those rules are being violated, the person violating the rules is responsible for any injury or death that may result.
I suppose there may be some scenario where a firearm could discharge while it is not being touched by anyone, but I think having the Sacred College of Cardinals elect a Jewish Pope would be more likely.

As soon as you say “including suicide,” the whole statement is staistically meaningless. You’d choose a gun if you have one, but if you don’t, there’s no shortage of other sure ways.
