In California, an 8-year-old is mature enough to undergo gender reassignment or consent to s#xual relations with an adult. But a 24-year-old is still a “child” enough to stay on his parents’ insurance and get “youth offender” treatment, and is still too immature to own a militia-useful firearm.
Come to think of it, according to the California legislature, everyone except police is too immature to own militia-useful firearms.
