Slate chooses perversely to present this contrast as the difference between how “the law” protects the rights of white people over the rights of trans people… when in reality, it merely demonstrates the difference between a the respect of “the law in a red state” for a right that “the law in a blue state” prefers to hamper and hamstring whenever possible.
