In the days of my youth there were conservative Democrats. There also were pro RKBA Democrats. There were even Democrats who were both conservative and pro RKBA.
But then came the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK.
And thereafter, instead of looking deeper into the causes of political violence, the Democratic Party took the easy way out and adopted a policy of blaming “easy access to firearms.”
And that subspecies of coservative and/or pro RKBA Democrats not so quietly went extinct.
