An Age-Old Question

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday backed an effort to lower the statewide age requirement to purchase a rifle, calling a current law that bars 18-year-olds from buying firearms “unconstitutional.” [More]

That’s because it is.

I wonder how many Democrats howling in indignant rage over this support lowering the voting age to 16

  1. Oregon’s OFF capped this brand of hypocrisy yesterday:
“Anti-gun extremist Paul Evans … claimed (in an effort to justify 2005’s attack on young adults) that people under twenty one “sometimes” make bad decisions. He pointed out that Oregon restricts persons under 21 from alcohol and pot use… but it was only yesterday that Evans voted to allow 15 year olds to have their genitals and breasts removed and 10 year olds the right to have abortions without their parent’s knowledge or permission.”

  2. Sigh, I remember the good old days when at 15 I bought my first rifle (I lived in NYC and this was 1965) by mail. A second hand French military bolt action that I intended to use for deer hunting. I had to wait till I was 16 to get my big game license but I wanted to make sure I had my gun in hand.
